Design Island: 3D Home Makeover is a magical home design plus a match-3 puzzle game. You have just received an inheritance from your relative, Auntie Q. Upon arriving at the location, you are greeted by a mysterious woman who calls herself Iris, the design witch. With her help, you will embark on a magical journey to clean up the dusty mansion and turn it into a wonderful home for yourself. The core gameplay of Design Island: 3D Home Makeover is focused on the match-3 puzzle games which is then connected to the home design part of the game. First things first, Iris will only be able to work her magic and help you fix the mansion if you give her stars. You can earn more stars by playing and beating the match-3 puzzle levels. Once you have received a star, you can go over to the list of tasks and tap on one to complete it. After you have managed to do all the tasks in a list, a secret reward will be waiting for you.
In a match-3 puzzle, swap the pieces to create a match of 3 identical pieces and collect them. Collect all the pieces required as shown on the left side of the screen in order to clear the level. 4 identical pieces matched together will create a rocket. On the other hand, matching 5 pieces will grant you a bomb. Power-ups such as the rocket and the bomb can be trigger by double-tapping on them, or even by swapping them with a neighboring piece.
After Iris has managed to clean up the mansion, it is now time to redecorate it with fresh furniture. Choose from up to 3 different types of items for each section to give your new mansion a stylistic look that belongs to you. You can also interact with Iris with all kinds of prompts like handing her a drink or asking her to divine the future.
